"Learn to play flawlessly and faster and learn how to develop the ultimate touch!
Learn how your brain works and how to program it!"

Jurgen degreyse

Welcome to the real world of the piano

The Belgian Piano School (BPS) is a method that combines insights from the tradition of Chopin, Liszt, Horowitz, the Russian School, the French School, etc., with contemporary insights into the workings of the brain and the anatomy of the hand. This eclectic method, which has grown into a piano science through extensive study, is the life's work of the eminent piano pedagogue Jacques De Tiège.

Jacques De Tiège had contacts with the world's best pianists, with surgeons and doctors. He befriended many famous pianists and studied them while they practiced, sometimes up close and sometimes on the sly from behind the curtain in the concert hall (Michelangeli, Rubinstein, Weissenberg...). Because of this and also by studying almost every piano method, he came to unique, revolutionary insights.

These insights are mindblowing and essential for learning to play flawlessly, developing control, learning to play relaxed (and avoid injury) and developing the ultimate touch. He called his 'method' the Belgian Piano School.

Every pianist, regardless of level, from beginner to concert pianist can become a better pianist with these insights. Welcome to the real world of the piano.

Teaching method guide mains

Teaching method 'the guide-mains'

In the 19th century, the 'guide-mains' was an overwhelming success, but then unfortunately fell into oblivion for a long time. The 'guide-mains' is used for two purposes:

  • developing wrist technique in the style of Liszt/Horowitz....

  • developing control, touch.

You learn to play flawlessly and faster and you learn how to develop the ultimate touch! Learn how your brain works and how to program it!

Learn how your brain works and how to program it!

By training with a 'guide-mains' you will develop more control, more speed, a relaxed technique and a better sound.Blackouts will also become a thing of the past.
